The Powder Coating Process

The powder coating process involves three basic steps:

  1. Part preparation or the pre-treatment (this includes stripping previous coatings, blasting and cleaning)
  2. The powder application (this includes masking all parts that cannot have a coating on them and applying the powder on the part)
  3. Curing (this includes exposing the part to a controlled heat source to cure the coating)
